The lullaby I sang to my son as a baby was “Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) By the Dixie Chicks”. It’s still special to us.

      Ditto 🙂

‘Rock em Racer’s all tuckered out, Superman’s in pajamas on the couch. Good night Moon, go find the mouse and I Love Yous…’

I sang it to both my boys and still do sometimes. Very mellow and beautiful lullaby. <3

We sing rock a by baby a lot to my 6 week old, but it is sung “Rock a by Kiera” with some words changed, my 4 year old loves to sing it to her at the top of his lungs!

My daughter loved it when I sang “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John. I do not know all the words, therefore made up quite a few. As I write this I am cracking up thinking about it. My son likes Brad Paisley, so we sing “Ticks” (leaving out certain lyrics)….keeping it G-rated 🙂

We are greek and I would sing to both kids “To Ekklisaki” Translation: The poor little church. Very sweet song. Talks about a small poor little church at the top of the mountain, with no chantor and not priest, has a candle almost burnt out and a cross made out of stone, basically giving you hope that as long as you believe…there is always hope.

I always loved singing my babies to sleep. I’d start off with the traditional songs and then sing a mix of country music to rock music. It’s amazing how just hearing my voice could calm them down and sooth them into a deep sleep.

Both of my kids love “You Are My Sunshine.” However, ever since they were babies, they each have a separate song that they like to hear from me, too. For my daughter, it is “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt (mostly the chorus), and for my son, it has been “Endless Love” by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. May seem like strange songs for lullabies, but they love them, and I still sing those for them to this day whenever they need cheering up. Works every time! Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

    Over in Killarney,many years ago
My mother sang a song to me
in tones so sweet and low
    Just a simple little ditty
in her good old Irish way
And I’d give the world if she could sing that song to me this day Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don’t you cry!
    Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that’s an Irish lullaby. Oft in dreams I wander
    to that cot again.
I feel her arms a-hugging me
As when she held me then.
And I hear her voice a-hummin’
to me as in the days of yore, when she used to rock me fast asleep
outside the cabin door. Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don’t you cry!
    Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
    Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that’s an Irish lullaby.
